My photography journey started as a child when I would sit for hours going through my parents’ photo albums. Looking at snapshots of my childhood and time gone by was a comfort growing up in an ever-changing world. I got my first camera, a point and shoot, when I was a teenager and began documenting my life, and by association, my friends’ and family’s lives.

In college I studied physical therapy which gave me a deep understanding of movement and the human body. My 9 years of work as a physical therapist have helped me hone skills associated with photography, as it requires creativity, quick thinking, problem solving, continued learning, teamwork, and clear communication to ensure that those I am working with feel comfortable and educated about the rehabilitation process.

On my wedding day, I had the experience of being in front of the camera as a client. I was fascinated by the process of photographing an event. Everything from our first meeting to the gallery delivery was so interesting to me. I absolutely love and cherish the images from that day, and the experience made me first consider that photography could be more than a hobby

More recently, I have focused on family photos, as many relatives and friends have become parents. It is such a privilege to capture special moments for my loved ones and their families. It’s the only way to freeze time when little ones seem to grow up so fast.

I enjoy lifestyle photos as much as traditional portraits. Natural light in an outdoor setting provides a perfect, timeless backdrop to allow your personality to shine. The best photos evoke emotion and take your breath away; that’s when I know I have done my job. I consider it an honor to make photos that people will enjoy for years to come and use as part of their family history.

Photography has tugged at my heartstrings for over a decade and a half, and I am so excited to honor my creative side through my business. I hope you will consider me to capture priceless family memories for you.
